Paul VanDeCarr

New York-based Paul VanDeCarr works with nonprofits to use arts and media to support human rights movements; he is especially passionate about challenging mass incarceration in the U.S., and LGBT human rights abuses worldwide. For him, writing about travel and the arts is another way of appreciating human diversity and dignity. His writing has appeared in such publications as OutTraveler, GPS, Gadling, and the Advocate. When traveling, he likes side streets and random encounters with strangers. He has lived in two of Tennessee Williams’ top American cities (San Francisco, New York), and someday will live in the third (New Orleans).
